Safari Itinerary
On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and transferred to your lodge in Arusha. The rest of the day is at leisure to relax after your international flight. Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy a short walk in the lodge grounds, where common garden birds such as Variable Sunbirds, Speckled Mousebirds, and African Pied Wagtails can already be spotted. A briefing session with your guide in the evening will prepare you for the exciting birding adventure ahead, discussing target species, habitats, and expectations. Dinner and overnight in Arusha, surrounded by the cool breezes of Mount Meru’s foothills.

After breakfast, leave Arusha and head for Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania’s top birding destinations, with more than 550 bird species recorded. The park's varied habitats, including riverine woodlands, swamps, open grasslands and acacia forests, offer excellent birding opportunities all year round. During your game drive keep a look out for the Yellow-collared Lovebirds, Ashy Starlings, Hornbills, Barbets and a variety of birds of prey as well as the sightings of elephants, giraffes, zebras and other wild animals. The park’s iconic baobabs and dramatic scenery make for a memorable introduction to Tanzania’s incredible birdlife and wildlife.

After breakfast, enjoy a final birding drive in Tarangire National Park before continuing to Lake Manyara National Park, a small but remarkably diverse park known for its rich birdlife and beautiful scenery. The park's groundwater forests, acacia woodlands, and lakeshore habitats attract a wide variety of species including flamingos, pelicans, storks, herons, kingfishers, hornbills, and numerous waterbirds. Alongside the birding experience, you may also encounter elephants, baboons, giraffes, and the park's famous tree-climbing lions. After an enjoyable day of birdwatching and wildlife viewing, proceed to Karatu for dinner and overnight.

After an early breakfast depart Karatu and travel through the stunning Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Enjoy spectacular views of the Ngorongoro Crater before heading on to Serengeti National Park, where the wide open plains are an entirely different birding environment. Arrive in the afternoon and enjoy a birding game drive to look for Secretary Birds, Kori Bustards, raptors and many savannah species before arriving at your camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
