Your adventure begins in Tarangire National Park, one of Africa’s most beautiful wildlife destinations. Safari Itinerary

Your family will be collected from your hotel in Arusha after breakfast and set off on the scenic drive to Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania’s best wildlife destinations and a firm favourite for family safaris. Tarangire is known for its ancient baobabs and large herds of elephants. It is also a great place to see lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, impalas, warthogs and a wide array of birds. Following a picnic lunch in the park, continue with an afternoon game drive along the Tarangire River where wildlife congregates all year. Drive late afternoon to the cool highland of Karatu where you will check in your lodge for dinner and overnight relaxing stay.

Early breakfast and drive to the magnificent Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend 600 metres into the world famous Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most spectacular wildlife haven in Africa. The crater is home to an incredible concentration of animals including the endangered black rhino, elephants, lions, buffaloes, hippos, hyenas, wildebeests, zebras and many antelope species. Have a picnic lunch next to the beautiful hippo pool and continue your game drive across the crater floor. This is one of the highlights of any Tanzanian safari with fantastic scenery and lots of wildlife. Climb the crater in the afternoon and return to Karatu for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, depart for the colourful village of Mto wa Mbu. It is one of Tanzania’s most culturally diverse communities. Join a local guide for a walk through the village, explore the colourful local market, visit banana plantations and traditional farms, and discover the customs and daily lives of the many tribes who live in the village. Depending on the season, you will also have the possibility to taste fresh tropical fruits and locally prepared specialities. Following your cultural tour and lunch, you will be driven back to Arusha, where you will be transferred to Arusha Airport (ARK) or Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your onwards flight, marking the end of your memorable 3-day Tanzania Family Safari.
