The park is situated on the slopes of Mount Meru and hosts lush montane forests, open grasslands, sparkling Momella Lakes, volcanic craters and plenty of wildlife. The crown jewel of your journey is three unforgettable nights in the legendary Serengeti National Park, one of Africa’s greatest wildlife destinations and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Serengeti is one of the richest concentrations of wildlife on earth spread over an area of almost 15,000 square kilometres of endless plains, granite kopjes, acacia woodlands and winding rivers. It is known worldwide for the Great Wildebeest Migration, when more than two million wildebeest, zebras and gazelles move across the ecosystem in search of fresh grazing. Seasonally, you will see dramatic river crossings, calving seasons or massive herds as far as the eye can see.
But even without the migration, the Serengeti is one of the best places to see wildlife all year. This amazing ecosystem is home to large prides of lions, elusive leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles, hyenas, jackals, servals and hundreds of bird species. At the Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) you will be greeted by one of the Tanzaniatrail Experience representatives with a warm welcome and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. Depending on your time of arrival, enjoy the tranquil surroundings of Tanzania's safari capital, or unwind after your international flight. After breakfast, depart for the beautiful Arusha National Park for an exciting combination of a guided walking safari and traditional game drive.
