Your safari begins in the friendly city of Arusha, known as the safari capital of Tanzania. Arusha is the perfect introduction to Tanzania, at the foot of the majestic peaks of Mount Meru and conveniently situated on the doorstep of the Northern Safari Circuit. In your city tour you will visit local markets, cultural landmarks, artisan workshops and lively neighbourhoods for a taste of everyday Tanzanian life before heading into the wilderness.
We continue our adventure to Tarangire National Park, a hidden gem known for its ancient baobab trees, breathtaking scenery and the largest concentration of elephants in northern Tanzania. The Tarangire River attracts animals throughout the year with good opportunities to see elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, impalas and over 550 bird species recorded. Tarangire is one of Tanzania’s most rewarding safari destinations, thanks to its tranquil atmosphere and spectacular landscapes.
Then you continue to the legendary Serengeti National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most famous wildlife sanctuaries in Africa. The Serengeti is known for its huge open plains that go on for miles in every direction, the Great Migration, which happens once a year, and the large number of predators that live there. Two unforgettable days to explore this unique ecosystem, where on each game drive you will see lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles and thousands of grazing animals in their natural habitat. From observing a pride of lions sleeping under an acacia tree to witnessing a breathtaking African sunset over the endless plains, the Serengeti offers unforgettable safari moments at every turn.
From the Serengeti, head to the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, one of the world’s largest intact volcanic calderas and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Drop more than 600 metres into this extraordinary natural sanctuary and you will find one of Africa’s richest wildlife ecosystems, home to the legendary Big Five as well as countless other species. Itinerario Safari
On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be met by your professional guide and transferred to the lively town of Arusha, the starting point of Tanzania’s famous Northern Safari Circuit. Depending on your arrival time enjoy a guided city tour introducing you to the local culture, bustling markets, artisan shops, cultural heritage sites and lively streets that make Arusha such a fascinating destination. Visit local craft centres where talented artisans produce traditional Tanzanian artwork and souvenirs and experience the warm hospitality of the local people. This chilled out intro will give you a real flavour of everyday life in Tanzania, before your safari adventure begins. Then check into your comfortable lodge, enjoy dinner and relax in preparation for the exciting days ahead.

After breakfast, drive from Arusha to the wonderful Tarangire National Park, with its giant baobab trees and large herds of elephants. You can spot large herds of elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, wildebeest, impalas, ostriches and many colourful species of birds as you explore the park’s open savannah, seasonal swamps and river valleys. The Tarangire River is a wildlife magnet all year round, so every game drive is packed with exciting encounters and excellent photographic opportunities. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park, then spend the afternoon continuing your wildlife exploration. Later, depart Tarangire and travel through the picturesque highlands to the charming town of Karatu for dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.
