On arrival in Tanzania you’ll be met with a warm welcome and have time to settle into your surroundings and prepare for the incredible adventures ahead. The following day we head to Tarangire National Park, one of the hidden gems of northern Tanzania. It is famous for its ancient baobab trees, huge elephant herds and the life-giving Tarangire River, which attracts a wealth of wildlife throughout the year. As you walk through the park’s diverse landscapes, you will see lions, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, wildebeests, impalas, ostriches and over 550 species of birds that have been recorded, making Tarangire one of the best wildlife destinations in the country.
The journey continues to the legendary Serengeti National Park, one of Africa’s greatest wildlife sanctuaries and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Spanning nearly 15,000 square kilometres, the Serengeti is known for its endless golden plains, remarkable biodiversity and the spectacular Great Wildebeest Migration. Two nights here will give you plenty of time to hunt for lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, hippos, crocodiles and many other species that call the Serengeti home in different regions. Every moment here, from stalking predators to catching a glimpse of the African sunset over the great savannah, becomes a memory to be treasured.
After the Serengeti, head to the incredible Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a volcanic wonderland peppered with Maasai pastoral communities and one of the continent’s most remarkable conservation areas. Spend the night at the crater rim before descending into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and one of the best places in Africa to spot the legendary Big Five. The crater boasts spectacular scenery and abundant wildlife, making it a memorable finale to your safari.
Back in Arusha, you will have a chance to enjoy the city’s lively culture before you leave. Experience a guided city tour for a true sense of everyday Tanzanian life, exploring bustling markets, local artisan workshops, cultural landmarks and vibrant neighbourhoods. Tanzania is home to the famous Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and black rhino—as well as cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, hippos, crocodiles, hyenas, antelopes, and over 1,100 bird species. Wildlife sightings vary depending on the season and destination.

We recommend lightweight neutral-coloured clothing, a light jacket for early mornings, comfortable walking shoes, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, insect repellent, binoculars, a camera, and any personal medications. Soft-sided luggage is preferred for safari vehicles and domestic flights.
Safaris can be 2 to 14 days or longer. Most travellers opt for between 5 and 8 days to comfortably cover several national parks, but longer safaris offer more time to track the Great Migration or combine wildlife with cultural experiences and Zanzibar.
Sure. Many of our clients opt to end their safari with a relaxing beach holiday in Zanzibar. Domestic flights run daily and it is easy to combine the incredible wildlife of Tanzania with the white sand beaches and turquoise waters of Zanzibar.
Most international visitors require a Tanzanian tourist visa, usually available either online or on arrival, depending on nationality. We also recommend that you discuss recommended vaccinations and malaria prevention with your healthcare provider prior to travel.
Yeah. All our safaris are done in a private 4x4 safari vehicle with a professional English speaking driver-guide unless you specifically ask for a shared safari, so you can travel at your own pace and have a personalised safari experience.
